SUPERINTENDENT TATE CELEBRATES 20 YEARS AT PRO-VISION!
In 1994, Mrs. Carrie Tate, joined the staff at Pro-Vision. Twenty years later, she is still enjoying the educational environment and loves impacting the lives of young people through positive change. Now, as the Superintendent of Pro-Vision Academy, she takes her job very serious and considers it a privilege to get to know the lives of the young people who come through Pro-Vision’s doors.
Mrs. Tate’s favorite song is “On the Ocean” by K’Jon. Her favorite gospel artist is Yolanda Adams. Mrs. Tate’s favorite saying is “People do what people see.” She is an exemplary role model to not only the young people at Pro-Vision, but to her staff and friends as well! Pro-Vision is excited to be celebrating her 20 years of service and is looking forward to 20 more!
CONGRATULATIONS MRS. TATE. WE LOVE YOU!
Pro-Vision: A Holistic, Innovative, Educational Community, Providing HOPE!
Pro-Vision is not only an Open-Enrollment Texas State Charter Middle and High School, but is also an Organization that provides key programming that helps the youth of Sunnyside and Houston between the ages of 11 and 18. Having begun 24 years ago, on a basketball court and a bet, Pro-Vision has been impacting the lives of many youth by teaching them to honor themselves and by providing a safe and structured environment in which to learn, grow and succeed.
Pro-Vision is committed to the success of the young people it serves, academically and beyond. The trained staff uses a holistic educational model in order to develop a strong sense of self-worth, job and study skills, and civic responsibility. The teachers at Pro-Vision seek to instill confidence, which leads to achievement. The male teachers are referred to as “COACH” because they are sharing their life-skills and experience to help the youth succeed.
Pro-Vision makes a serious promise to its students to engage them as part of a positive and productive community. Pro-Vision is not simply a school, but a family. The staff of “life coaches” offer care, compassion and accountability in everyday settings, along with one-on-one mentoring and support. This involvement encourages students to lead lives of integrity and purpose.
Pro-Vision offers academic classes, job training and enrichment activities that challenge students and provide opportunities for short- and long-term success. Ninety percent of the Pro-Vision Middle School students receive high school diplomas. Ninety-seven percent of all graduates are employed, pursuing advanced degrees, attending a trade school, or serving in the armed forces.
