Our Manhood Development Academy is an
integrity based program that teaches young men
moral, ethical and purposeful living through cultural
and social development, academic learning and
community service.

The Manhood Development Academy is Pro-Vision’s founding program, established 17 years ago to address
the drop-out crisis among young males and to advert
young males’ participation in drugs and gang culture, unhealthy living and potential for unemployment, incarceration and ultimately devastation of families.

The Manhood Program serves young males, 11-18
years old throughout the Greater Houston Community.

Manhood Development is the component upon which
Pro-Vision was founded. The Manhood Development Program develops thoughtful, critical thinking and
respectful youth who take responsibility for their life
and infuse this philosophy into others. The Manhood program places the young men in situations and activities that reinforce moral and ethical thinking to improve their decision making process.

At the core of the Manhood Development Program are the Pro-Vision Coaches, who lead and guide the young men in the activities and curriculum. These mentoring relationships form the basis for teaching our young men the foundation of healthy family relationships.

The goal of the Manhood Development Program is to develop thoughtful, critical thinking and respectful men who take responsibility for their life and infuse this philosophy into others

Pro-Vision immerses young men in situations and activities
that reinforce moral and ethical thinking to improve their ability to make appropriate and positive life choices. A four step approach for personal development is implemented that stresses individual responsibility, goal attainment, life-long learning, and the development of an ethics-based value system. It includes a promotion-orientated strategy which provides incentives for striving, achieving and maintaining excellence.

Beyond the accolades lies the truth behind the program's success; dedicated staff and parents collaborating in the best possible way to achieve success for the young men who participate in our program. The Manhood Development program has realized that their members' success is measured by each one finding their life purpose — service to their communities and accountability for themselves.

It has been our practice to include parents in the Manhood process in order to address each family's needs. Led by professional counselors and experienced Coaches, Manhood Development offers parenting skills courses and self-help workshops which enables families to develop appropriate
avenues of self-expression.
