HOUSTON–
Pro-Vision, Inc., is the nonprofit parent of special programs
dedicated to developing Houston’s
young males into leaders of tomorrow, will break ground
for its new educational center on Friday, March 2 at 10:30 a.m.
at the future site located at 4590 Wilmington St. in
the Sunnyside Neighborhood.
Former U.S.
Secretary of Education and capital campaign honorary chair Rod
Paige has championed Pro-Vision as a model of success and will
serve as the event’s keynote speaker. In addition to breaking
ground, Pro-Vision also plans to announce the second phase of
its capital campaign, which has raised almost half of its $7 million
goal, in support of its new facilities.
“This
groundbreaking ceremony represents a major step towards providing
young men, their families, and the local community with moral,
cultural, and educational opportunities,” said Roynell Young,
Pro-Vision’s founder, president, and chief executive officer.

The
future 16-acre site will include a multi-purpose Academic building
with classrooms, library, and media center, an amphitheater, and
a physical education building/gymnasium to accommodate Pro-Vision’s
Manhood Development program, an integrity based development program
that teaches moral and ethical living.
“We
have received tremendous support for the new campus and facilities,
and are eager to energize the next phase of fundraising,”
said Alan Hassenflu, chairman of the board of directors of Pro-Vision.
The new site
will also serve as home to the organization’s Enterprise/Job
Training program, which is designed to fulfill the economic and
social potential of program participants by teaching them the
skills they need to participate in productive work and entrepreneurship.

Pro-Vision, Inc. was founded in 1990 by former Philadelphia Eagles
all-pro cornerback Roynell Young. Since its inception, the organization
has helped more than 1,500 young males throughout the greater
Houston area become leaders and productive citizens. Pro-Vision
is responsible for the successful creation of the Pro-Vision Manhood
Development Program and Enterprise Academy are corner stone programs,
