Groundbreaking Marks
New Era for Pro-Vision, Inc.
Former U.S. Secretary of Education
Rod Paige to Speak

HOUSTON– Pro-Vision, Inc., is the nonprofit parent of special programs dedicated to developing Houston’s
young males into leaders of tomorrow, will break ground
for its new educational center on Friday, March 2 at 10:30 a.m. at the future site located at 4590 Wilmington St. in
the Sunnyside Neighborhood.

Former U.S. Secretary of Education and capital campaign honorary chair Rod Paige has championed Pro-Vision as a model of success and will serve as the event’s keynote speaker. In addition to breaking ground, Pro-Vision also plans to announce the second phase of its capital campaign, which has raised almost half of its $7 million goal, in support of its new facilities.

“This groundbreaking ceremony represents a major step towards providing young men, their families, and the local community with moral, cultural, and educational opportunities,” said Roynell Young, Pro-Vision’s founder, president, and chief executive officer.

The future 16-acre site will include a multi-purpose Academic building with classrooms, library, and media center, an amphitheater, and a physical education building/gymnasium to accommodate Pro-Vision’s Manhood Development program, an integrity based development program that teaches moral and ethical living.

“We have received tremendous support for the new campus and facilities, and are eager to energize the next phase of fundraising,” said Alan Hassenflu, chairman of the board of directors of Pro-Vision.

The new site will also serve as home to the organization’s Enterprise/Job Training program, which is designed to fulfill the economic and social potential of program participants by teaching them the skills they need to participate in productive work and entrepreneurship.
