The greatest investment one can make is to invest in the life of another

Throughout the past 33 years, Pro-Vision Inc. has learned that in order to complete the transformation and make an impact in the life of a young person, you have to not only teach their mind, but teach their heart also. At Pro-Vision Inc., we have inspired and impacted the lives of over 7,000 young men and women.

MISSION

Pro-Vision, Inc. was created to inspire hope and purpose into young people, families and communities, through access to academic, economic, and social enrichment opportunities.

OUR HISTORY

Located in the southeast Houston Sunnyside neighborhood, Pro-Vision Inc., has impacted the lives of over 7,000 young people in its thirty plus year history. What began as an after-school program servicing young men in an 800 square foot rented space has flourished into a multifaceted eco-systematic approach on 60 acres which includes the following:

The Character Development Program - The Character Development Program was once exclusive to Pro-Vision Academy and has grown beyond its walls into the community.  The goal is to have satellites throughout the Houston community.  At Pro-Vision Inc., we take into account the entire human being, which seeks to reinforce moral and ethical thinking to improve the decision-making process and break the cycle of self-destructive behavior.  This programming is anchored by the Manhood Development Program and S.H.E. (Strong, Healthy and Empowered) and provides supportive initiatives for the families of the young people participating in these programs.

The Pro-Vision Academy - Education is a lifelong experience, that is why in 1995 Pro-Vision, Inc. understood and began the Pro-Vision Academy.  It has evolved into an autonomous and State-Run Charter School serving 420 plus young boys and girls in grades 6 - 12.  It was established to help serve the specific needs and assist in overcoming any challenges the young people faced in order to empower them with a good education.

Urban Farm/Aquaponics - Pro-Vision Inc. has a 5-acre working Urban Farm/Aquaponics Program that uses the production and sale of produce to instill the spirit of entrepreneurial-ism in underserved young men, while addressing detrimental issues that are prevalent in the community such as childhood obesity and the lack of access to healthy and fresh food options.

Housing Initiative - Pro-Vision Villages at Chocolate Bayou is an upcoming initiative that will have more than 400 units of affordable mixed housing for families who are learning to be homeowners and contributing citizens for the betterment of their community.

Pro-Vision Inc. has created a new paradigm for fighting poverty, intended to overcome the limits of traditional approaches. Our model focuses intensively on the social, health, and educational development of the collective community; as well as emphasizes the importance of individualized self-actualization in the fight against poverty. We provide all-around services that improve the lives of individuals, provide opportunities for families, and revitalizes neighborhood environments.
